Chung Kwan-jang catches Hyundai E&C. Woori Card defeated Korea Electric Power. The battle for the top spot in this season's V-League men's and women's divisions has been a close one.

Jeong Kwan-jang led the Woori Card to a 3-2 (23-25, 25-15, 16-25, 25-19, 15-10) victory over Hyundai E&C in the sixth round of the Dodram 2023-2024 V-League Women's Division at Suwon Gymnasium on Sunday.

Jung Kwanjang improved to 19 wins, 14 losses and 58 points to move closer to the playoffs. The semi-playoffs are held when the third- and fourth-place teams are separated by three points or less. Jeonggwanjang is on a six-game winning streak.

With the loss, Hyundai E&C has a busier road ahead. Hyundai E&C had to settle for one more point. They were unable to extend their lead over second-place Heungkuk Saengsim. Hyundai E&C is now 24-8 with 73 points, while Heungkuk Sinsaeng is 25-7 with 70 points.

Woori Card has played one game less, so the standings could easily flip. That's why the next game is even more important. On June 6, leaders Korean Air and second-place Woori Card will meet in an inevitable clash at the Gyeyang Gymnasium in Incheon.

Both Hyundai E&C and Heungkuk Life Insurance in the women's league, and Korean Air and Woori Card in the men's league, will have to fight for the top spot in the regular season. The race for the top spot in both the men's and women's leagues is a close one.
