Dino Game: From Offline Glitch to Global Gaming Phenomenon

The dino game was created by a team of developers at Google and introduced in September 2014. Its purpose? To provide a bit of amusement for users who had lost internet connectivity. Rather than leave people staring at a frustrating "No Internet" message, the Chrome UX team decided to inject a bit of fun—and the result was a pixelated Tyrannosaurus Rex on the error page.

The inspiration behind the game was simple yet clever: being disconnected from the internet is like going back to the prehistoric age. So, what better way to symbolize that than a dinosaur? The project was internally dubbed "Project Bolan", a nod to Marc Bolan, the lead singer of the band T. Rex.
