Agario Made Me Realize How Easily We Get Attached to Small Things
I didn’t expect agario to make me feel anything, honestly. It looked like one of those games you open when you’re bored, play for a few minutes, then forget about completely. No story, no progression, no reason to stay longer than you need to.
But after playing it a few times, I noticed something that caught me off guard.
I was getting attached.
Not to the game itself—but to each run, each small bit of progress, each moment where things felt like they were going well.
It Starts Off With No Expectations
When you first play agario, there’s nothing to hold onto. You’re just a small circle moving through a space that doesn’t care about you. You eat a few dots, avoid a few players, maybe last a little longer than before.
But if you lose? It doesn’t matter.
You don’t feel anything because you didn’t have anything to lose.
And that’s what makes the beginning feel so light.
